Maribel was raised together with her brothers in Virginia but details of their lives are lacking, was raised by parents and grandparents. In her early years Maribel was interested in becoming a lawyer and pursued a career within the legal field. In fact, when her high school graduation was over, she was admitted to the University of Virginia to pursue the major of German and a minor in foreign Policy.
